Spices Island

Zanzibar is an island located in the Zanzibar archipelago, in Tanzania.

Situated about 24 miles /40km away from the African coast, this island is best known for its spices and oriental culture. This multifaceted pearl of the Indian Ocean is incomparable and unique, mainly due to its mixed African and Indian influences. Stone Town, the port city of the main island (Ugunja), is a real treasure, which has been classified as a UNESCO heritage site.

There are plenty of various things and excursions to do in Zanzibar. Here is a selection for a varied and authentic trip. Just pick up the option that best suits your needs. For example you might want to stay longer by combining your trip to Zanzibar with a safari within the Kilimanjaro region. One hour of internal flight will take you to Arusha, which is the starting point of all tours. Have a walk around Serengeti, Tanzania's most famous park or explore animal life in Ngorongoro Crater!

Day 1

Arrival and transfer from Zanzibar International Airport to your hotel.

Day 2

Relax and enjoy yourself! Chill on the white sandy beaches whilst swimming in the breathtaking turquoise water.

Day 3

Discover the Jozani Primary Forest, Zanzibar's essential national park. Take a close look at the colonies of Red-backed Colobus, a typical species of monkey on the island. You will recognize them easily with white crest and red back, as you may observe these very sociable animals without disturbing them in their daily routine!

Day 4

Visit Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar's capital. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this city is a perfect blend of colonial, Indian and African influences. Markets, bazaars, colours, smells allow for an explosion of all your senses, ensuring a total change of scenery. Travel back in time through the narrow streets and historic monuments.

Day 5

Snorkelling is on the agenda! Get on a boat to reach Mnemba Island. Spend the day exploring the seabed looking for the most beautiful fish species, or just chill on the beach. Such an activity is perfect for enjoying Zanzibar's postcard landscape!

Day 6

Safari Blue! Board a traditional dhow and enjoy the magic of the sandbanks and rugged island. A full day sailing around mangroves and snorkeling along some of the best coral reefs of Zanzibar. Safari Blue explores the Menai Bay Conservation Area. Seafood BBQ is served on the sandbank.

Day 7

Enjoy one last swim before heading up to the airport!
